Program: 19:30 Mayor Eng. Morar Costan’s message and word of welcome addressed by the museum’s president, prof. Constantin Albinetz. 20:00 Opening of a collective exhibition of graphic art, featuring the following artists: Maria Brudașca, Adina Bogățean, Paul Bucovesan and Flaviu Moldovan. Presents: Loredana Tomsa, art critic.

The four artists are all graduates of the University of Fine Arts and Design from Cluj-Napoca. The works of Maria Brudaşcă are mostly traditional graphics, with techniques such as freehand drawing in ink, watercolor, pencil, charcoal and collage. Her recent works are linocuts. This technique is connected to the most recent subject she is developing, that of archaic Romanian mythology. She is passionate about children’s book illustration, and wants to create a book with the same mythological subject.

Adina Bogătean´s work focuses on graphics and uses the traditional technical drawing in pencil or ink, most often combined with color or other plastic and expressive works with mixed techniques. She demonstrates an attraction to other media in the graphics and the engraving shows her artistic skills especially in metal techniques (acvatinta, black way) or cold needle, techniques that highlight the attention to detail. The forms she creates reveal a deep sense of volume and space and the ability to collect and enter three-dimensional space. Therefore, she expresses a profound attraction to sculpture, related to which she plans to start to deal with ceramics, along with graphics.

Flavius Moldovan has interests in areas such as drawing, painting, design, photography and music. The artist thinks of his work as a series of portraits taken during over the approximately 10 years of drawing,. Explaining the process of ideas coming, Flaviu says that his ideas are not far from concepts such as love, family, war, technology, divinity. Although expressed realisticaly and abstractly, all these ideas are translated by an aesthetic approach that does not seek employment in a style, but looks for spontaneous and permanent change. Flavius Moldovan also plays music in clubs from Cluj, his musical show is actually a new package called Burghesinia, involving collaborations with artists from various fields such as art, television programming, DJ-ing and VJ-ing.

Paul Bucovesan doesn’t necessarily consider himself an artist, but, like any self-respecting artist, he tries trough his works to constantly exceed standards of this industry where often a poster is strictly considered to be a mean of communication, not an artistic product. “My name is probably more interesting than what I do for a living. I deal mainly with design. In fact, I’m a designer. A graphic designer. Occasional I do only graphics. This job that steals from 8 to 12 hours of my regular day. And yes, there are days less creative and more creative. The fact is that 11 years of Arts School help me in this regard.” (Paul Bucovesan)
