Fordson tractor in the National Museum of Agriculture

Fordson tractor with Series F-1485-C inscribed on the chassis is a product of Ford Motor Company, Detroit, Michigan, USA. It originates from Milea Gheorghe’s household, Veştem, Sibiu County. The tractor was bought around 1932 by his grandfather Barbu Marius, teacher in Deta, Arad County, and used extensively for transport and plough. In 1956, the tractor was equipped with wheels and tires. During the collectivization it was well hidden, thus keeping a good state of preservation. Milea Gheorghe purchased it from the owner in 1989, moving it on its own wheels, from the railway station of Sibiu to Veştem. The tractor was well preserved until the acquisition of it by the National Museum of Agriculture (2001). Its state of preservation is remarkable good nowadays.
