Löwendal Foundation recommends an interactive event challenging the curiosity of young visitors, in order for them to get acquainted with the creation and life of a nonconformist artist, an exception within the Romanian art scene, George Löwendal (1897, Sankt-Petersburg – 1964, Bucharest): an innovating spirit, always one step ahead of his time. George Baron Löwendal was known as a painter, illustrator and professor, but especially as a man of the stage, always sensible to the avant-gardes of the 20th century. His innovative visions on experimental scenography sparked one of the most interesting accomplishments of Romanian scenography altogether, when setting up the play RUR by Karel Capek. RUR was the first enactment of a SF play, for which he built a revolving stage, the first of it´s kind in Romania, between 1927 and 1928.
From 18:00 to 23:00, at the Löwendal Foundation, you are invited to discover once again, in a new visual concept, George Lowendal’s surprising creation and experience for the first time the interactive dimension offered by “Dear Esther”. “Dear Esther” was made in a independent creation studio in Brighton UK, thechineseroom - specialized in first person games. “Dear Esther” will be presented by it´s creators during the Night of the Museums, an event organised by the Löwendal Foundation and Make a Point Association. Starting from 21:30 for about one hour, the creators of the game will answer directly (via Skype) any question about their project.
