Crucifixion of Jesus

Bought most probably in Wien by Dumitru Furnică Minovici himself through Dorotheum auction house, this exemplary of German stained glass embodies specific themes for that period (16th – 17th centuries): on the background, one can clearly see the landscape of a burg, while on the foreground Virgin Mary takes part at the Crucifixion scene. Right at the base of the cross, as a memento for the immanent destiny, a skull and the inscription COMENDATORE ALMANORVM complete the picture.
