This year, on the occasion of the European Night of the Museums, the National Museum of Art of Romania reopens for the public the sumptuous spaces in the newly refurbished central wing of the museum: the Royal Dining Room, the Throne Hall and the Voivodes’ Staircase, closed for the past four years due to renovation work, and partially accessible to the public before. These spaces will host the Pieces of memory exhibition, which, through fine and decorative art objects from the museum’s patrimony, illustrates the history of the royal palace and of the royal family of Romania.

The National Gallery and the European Art Gallery are closed Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19. Opening hours for the temporary exhibitions Testimonials. The Frescoes from the Arges Monastery and Between East and West – Russian paintings from the National Museum of Art of Romania’s collections, 16th-20th centuries (ticket based access on May 19): Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19: 11.00 – 19.00.
