For the tenth edition of the event held this year on Saturday, May 17, the Art Museum of Cluj-Napoca is preparing a special program entitled “A Night at the Palace”. The program aims to present a series of entertainment activities associated with the baroque palace in which the museum currently functions. Former headquarters of the governor of Transylvania (1787-1822), the Bánffy Palace is the most representative secular baroque building of the city and a landmark for the eighteenth-century architecture in Transylvania. On this occasion, the balcony of the palace, rich in symbolic decorations, will be introduced into the visiting circuit of the museum for the entire summer season. In the course of history, it was visited by several emperors, including Francis I and Franz Joseph of Habsburg. The public will have the opportunity of meeting the theatrical version of the count Bánffy, it will be able to visit the National Gallery, to dance the waltz and to participate in the contest “The best strudel in Cluj”.
