The Museum welcomes you with the latest news! After a long period of conservation and restoration at the workshops of two important museums in Sibiu, the exhibits Jan Fyt, “Hunted Birds”, easel painting and “Painted Cassone” (Dowry), Italian School, have made their way back to the Dumitru Furnica Minovici Museum of Ancient Western Art. We also want to share with you our latest success: the restoration of the beautiful Cassone won first prize at the National Restoration Show in Craiova, in October 2013. Both objects are included in the National Heritage List, with the highest rank, and are now finally back home to be admired by inquisitive and art loving eyes. Another good news is the presence near the exhibits of QR (Quick Response) codes, from which you can learn new details. In addition to receiving descriptive information, the texts will take you inside the world of the collector Dumitru Furnică – Minovici, by revealing his long-standing work towards creating this impressive museum. The furniture, The Tuscan Renaissance fireplace, the stained glass windows are just a few of the exhibits that are impatiently waiting for you in order to reveal their stories.
