As part of the Night of Museums “Rediscover the museum through puzzles” project, the Art Museum aims to bring the audience closer to the understanding of the exhibited works by conducting workshop puzzles by age and degree of difficulty. These puzzles are reproductions of some of the most famous works exhibited in two galleries: The Romanian Modern Art Gallery and the Hungarian Classical Art Gallery. This way, the visit to the museum becomes more attractive and very relaxing, bringing the young public closer to the art works. The guests will entry the hall through a gothic style arch recreating the atmosphere of a medieval crypt. On large posters the most important activities of a Franciscan community (prayers, workshops, pilgrimage, etc.) will be presented. In two glass cases Human skeletons with visible bone diseases (in original position, in that way how they were discovered during the archaeological excavation) will be exhibited from the cemetery of the Friary. Body care and flavours in the Ancient world is an event organized by Mureș County Museum with the occasion of the European Night of the Museums. The visitors will have the possibility of experiencing the atmosphere of Via Piperatica, the greatest spice market of ancient Rome, in an ambient recreated with this occasion in the Small Hall of the Palace of Culture. The activities will focus on three main aspects: an exhibition area dedicated to body care during Roman times, which will present the main categories of artefacts used for cleaning the body, and two interactive workshops dedicated to the production on the spot of different creams and perfumes popular during the period, based on original recipes. During the process, replicas of original ceramic, glass and bone utensils will be used and the visitors will be able to test the different flavours and perfumes. The interactive workshops will be accompanied by information, projected on screens or presented on posters, regarding the popular spices of the time, the Roman spice trade with the Orient, as well as the perception of luxury in the Roman society. The painting on glass workshop will offer the kids the occasion to make decorative paintings through the imitation of stained glass. Thus, they will discover the charm of the transparencies of colors. Face painting workshop is for children of all ages. It is a magical game in wich children can „transform” into animals, fairys and anything they dream of by painting their faces. Museum teachers will do the paintings with special skin paints. Modelling clay workshop. Using clay and water children learn how to make plates, bowls etc.

Hungarian Photographs World Association organizes their 13th annual exhibition. As tradition, the exhibition is presented in several cities in Hungary, Slovenia and Romania. At the moment the exhibition is at the Essig Gallery in Cluj Napoca, Romania. It is arriving in Tg Mures at the 8th May and it can be visited during the Night of Museums 2014, organized by the Mures County Museum. The “dr. Bernady Gyorgy Foundation” is the partner organization of the event and the exhibition takes place at the foundations gallery. There will be photographs made by artists from Mures county as: Bandi András, Bálint Zsigmond, Fülöp Jenő, Orbán Enikő,Tordai Ede and Török Gáspár-all of them members of the “Marx Joseph” Photo Club. Another exhibition, organized especially for the Night of Museums, 2014 is going to present the works of “Barabás Miklós Céh”, 20 artists (painters, sculptors) from the city.
